I believe that life is messy and heartbreaking, and ridiculously beautiful all at the same time. I believe that you were made for so much more than you are experiencing right now – more love and joy, more justice, more effectiveness, more meaning and satisfaction. I believe that there is a voice of Love and Truth inside you that is calling you into living life to the full.
And I believe that I can help you right where you’re at, right now.
I use animal metaphors for my intuitive guidance practice because no matter how removed from nature we humans have become, there is something primal within us that recognizes and is drawn to the wisdom and teaching of the earth. Every religion seeks guidance from the plant and animal kingdoms, often projecting our own desired qualities onto the animals we observe. Perhaps we impose too much meaning upon basic evolutionary processes, but isn’t that what makes us human after all: looking for answers, reasons, and solutions in the complexity of our circumstances?
When you work with me, you will have the opportunity to nurture the Truth that has been planted in your heart, and to take hold of the bigger, brighter life you desire.
I believe that our liberation is wrapped up in each other’s. Layla Saad’s letters to spiritual white women (Part 1 and Part 2) were a huge wakeup call to me – convicting me to create meaningful distance from my practice and the typical “Spiritual White Woman” practice, rife with cultural appropriation and covert racism. Virginia Rosenberg’s Open Letter to Spiritual White Folks: Converting hidden spiritual racism into sacred activism is one of my templates for decolonizing my practice and staying aware of how my various majority privileges can oppress others, even in the name of spiritual expansion. I am a work in progress, learning to do better as I go.
I am committed to keeping my spiritual guidance practice clean of oppression and appropriation. Your heart cannot be free if its freedom is rooted (however invisibly, however passively, however unintentionally) in harming others.
My clients are heart-deep in the work of disentangling themselves from their complicity with the imperialist, capitalist, ableist, heteronormative, white supremacist patriarchy, and I’m so proud of them – and honored to offer support where I can. If you want help finding your power to bend the arc of the moral universe toward justice, I am here for you. If you are unwilling to face this, then I need you to find another place to seek guidance.
Why “Wild Goose Guidance?”
It’s the name that came me in the early morning hours, right after I had decided to put myself out there and officially offer animal metaphor-based spiritual guidance as a business. My mind was buzzing all night with entrepreneurial energy, but I still hadn’t landed on a name that I liked. I was awoken with the whispered answer and immediately was struck by its perfection. Early Celtic Christians referred to the Holy Spirit as the Wild Goose. The metaphor of the “Wild Goose chase” perfectly captures the unpredictable, elusive, and wild connection that I have with Spirit. My work is very much in partnership with the Wild Goose in whom I live and breathe and have my being.
